8.50 Index Purse Receives Giant Shot of Cash
Atco, NJ (March 9, 2012) – Atco Raceway is proud to announce Fonse Performance and Dependable Land Maintenance & Tree Service as the exclusive sponsors to its 8.50 Index program. Al Magliocco Sr. and Jr. along with Mark Richardson came to an agreement with Joe Sway, owner of Atco Raceway, to increase the total purse for the 2012 year by $4,500. The new purse will be guaranteed and make Atco Raceway’s 8.50 Index program the richest in the area.
Under the new payout structure the winner will now receive $1,500, the runner up $650, the semi finalist $250 and quarter finalist $75. The class champion will also receive an additional $500 at the conclusion of the season. The previous payout to the winner was $1,000 and the runner up formerly received $500. Semi finalist will be paid an additional $25 over last year. The entrance fee will remain the same at $75.
The 8.50 Index class will continue to run on Atco Raceway’s Super Saturday program. Super Saturday also features Outlaw 10.5, Outlaw Drag Radial, Drag Radial 275, Outlaw 8.5, 10.0 Index, 11.50 Index, Top Sportsman and Top Dragster. Super Saturday race dates are as follows: May 12, June 16, July 28, August 25, September 15 and October 20.
Atco Raceway was built in 1960 and is the oldest continuously operated drag strip in the state of New Jersey. For the 2012 year the racetrack will host over 200 events.
